The team will travel back to the US for a 2nd Research Trip.

The focus shifted to sustainability and architectural aspects for today with a trip to the US Green Building Council and Sabirna Morelli. This gave a fascinating insight into the LEED(R) programme (www.usgbc.org). The USGBC has built a great deal of momentum in the commercial building sector and is scheduled to release a draft of the LEED programme for the residential sector within the next month.

The afternoon was taken up with a visit to ARCOM who develop Masterspec. This is a product of the American Institute of Architects that provides master specifications for buildings. Although it is primarily in the commercial sector it provided an interesting view into the architectural community in the US. Paul Brosnahan, a kiwi expat was very helpful for the team.
